What does it take to be a star? Most of your answer should be “Most of all, she must be a very good-looking person”. Have you overlooked something? I think, it takes more than beauty to be a star after I’ve seen this woman in the film “Boys don’t cry”.
Do you know her? NO! I didn’t mean the blondy
girl, I mean the other!
Here she is. One of my most favorite Hollywood stars, 2 times Academy award winner “Hilary Swank”. She was “Brandon” in the movie “Boys don’t cry” - unrestrained tomboy who looking for true love with a real woman.
She (Swank) was paid only 3,000 dollars! for this sex- crisis role. But the big prize came later; she won her first Oscar as the best Actress in leading role in the year 1999.
Follow by her second in the year 2004 as a woman boxer in “Million Dollar Baby”.
The things that make her become a renowned Hollywood star are not her beauty, her scandal or her boyfriend but her ability, extremely self confident and her splendid performance with a little talent.
In my point of view, she should be a role modal for actresses all over the world and her reputation should be known throughout the world. But she isn’t –Why? I admit that she is not so beauty compared to the others. But it is not so important. The important things are her splendid performance and her stainless life. Sometimes, we let the physical appearance to blind our judgment. A bad story or scandal of a star can reach our ears faster that a good story. We should tune up our perceptions a bit and we will find out that there more good things waiting for us.
I could be way wrong, but I have a feeling that Brithney Spears is soon to come into her own. She may be breaking down the old self, the old image that she never created (was manufactured by producers, agents, management and even her parents. )
Her behaviour is running, hiding, ducking from something internal - drinking hard, staying so busy, focused outside herself on superficial distractions because whatever is going on inside, or “who she really is” wants to be expressed.
Maybe Britney’s gay. Maybe she is bi. Maybe she doesn’t like to sing/dance pop but is really drawn to raw alternative. Maybe she doesn’t really want to be a performer at all. She never chose this life - she was a Mouseketeer who released an album “encouraged” by her parents and adults around her.
She never really had a childhood or the chance to go through that mixed up, growing up time that most people do in their teens and early 20’s. I think shaving her head is a statement of freedom, change and rebellion. No one knows besides herself.
He is a superstar . He is a famous MC. He is also an idol in many teenagers’ recognition and heart. Recently he has done something unacceptable, at least in the eyes of general public. He drove his car after having drunk too much alcohol and undoubtedly his mind and body were in an uncontrollable as well as unconscious state. He seems to be a drunkard-to-be and a drunk driver now. He is none other than one of our favorite Thai superstars- Atthachai Anantamek or widely known as Dong. Not only was he called a drunk driver, he also used swearwords to the police officers while he was arrested and accused of drink driving. This event reflects something unknown to most people, that is to say, myriads of Thai people usually believe that their favorite superstars are good and well behaved for all seasons, but we should bear in mind that what we see might not be like what we have expected. Drink driving is an act of law violation and considered harmful and dangerous to people in general. Thus, Dong’s unforgivable case helps teach us not to drink and drive. What do you think? Have you ever noticed when the female stars fall in love?
With whom those girls are dating?
Most of their couples are from high society families with well known surnames and good financial status. Some of them are the businessmen and some are the heirs of big companies’ top executives. Though the appearances of those guys are not well built enough, there is nothing wrong to get along with.
It seems to be a basic principle for Thai female star to consider the social and economic status first, when she starts relationship with a guy. Base on this rule, it doesn’t sound strange when a
female star, who is very beautiful young and popular among Thai fans, gets along and has a date with the guy from high society family. What a perfect match making!
Dating with a popular female star is also the standard or formula for a guy who is from high society families with well known surnames and good financial status. The guy, who has more opportunity than others working as salary men, prefers to search for a popular actress than goes out with general beautiful girl. The reason is to fulfill his status suitably.
With the monetary power, Thai entertainment circle looks like a female stars shopping center for those guys to select and have a date with, and get married at the end if the couple can get along well.
This matter is going to tell us that people are already grouped by the social and financial status in couple making (general guy with normal girl and perfect guy with super girl). It is difficult and unacceptable to break that rule.
This situation is also teaching us that some guys select their couples based on their feelings more than reason and addicted to beauty when some girls consider the reason especially reason in their social and financial stability more than their feelings. Anna Nicole Smith had shocked her fans around the wolrd by passing away on February 8, 2007. She was found unconscious in her Florida hotel room. She was pronounced dead upon arrival to the hospital at the age of 39.
Anyway, my point related to Smith is that why she married to this old man, a grandfather generation man who was incredibly rich. Definitely, it was absolutely her right to marry anyone she wanted.
I confess that I am terribly subjective. I know I have no right and it is non of my business to judge Smith or anybody else. Yet, my question is that whether we can marry someone we love, yes we love, for a reason except love.
Confusing, right? I know Smith’s brain was not hollow though it appeared that she didn’t finish high school. But having low education doesn’t mean we cannot distinct what is black, what is white. Universally, there are not only black and white in moral and ethic, but also grey. Was she grey all the time then she couldn’t see how old he was.
How am I so mean to say that this man was too old to be her husband? Wicked Nuk! I mean being this old also implied that he could not live long since he was a human being who could not be escape the law of human longevity.
Would you marry a man whom, you know, can keep alive for a few years? Perhaps you can see his power and charm no one can. Or even you can see and feel his love. Can’t you see his dollars and fortune? Which one you concern most, love or dollar?
Just a query from a nasty and mean woman. ---->Sirorat (Nuk)
Fine feather makes fine birds. Women and beauty is inseparable. Every woman would like to be attractive to men and gain attention from others.
BUT WHAT IS THE SO CALLED “BEAUTY”?
Having the super sexy clothes on like these three Thai actresses absolutely make them to be more desirable and have sex appeal. Through their eyes, they might be proud of themselves as they could draw attention from the media and lots of people participated in the Suphannahong Award ceremony. However, in my point of view, these three women are something very disgusting as their behaviors destroy the image of Thai women. Of course, they look beautiful in terms of physical appearance but they lack the beauty in mind.
WHY DO THEY HAVE TO DEVALUE THEMSELVES TO BE AS SEXUAL AROUSEMENTS?
“Rak nuan sa nguan toi” is being taught to all Thai girls. It is the concept that all Thai women should keep in mind and always concern about. I agree that it is their right to dress themselves extremely seductively but it’s against Thai culture. I assume that their only reason for wearing the stupid dresses is in order to be recognized and famous. They would like to use their appearance as a mean to be successful in their career without using their abilities. They are too dumb and brainless. Their behaviors provoke the sexual desire in men and this is acause of the rise of rape and crime in Thai society. What advantages could they get in showing off some parts of their body? Insult? Admire? Money? Where are their self-esteem and self-pride? They have already lost and it is very difficult to get back. Their value is not different from the sex workers’ – maybe worse than that.
Why do we women have to consider only the beauty as the most important? Our abilities and intelligence are beyond that.
