What does it take to be a star? Most of your answer should be “Most of all, she must be a very good-looking person”. Have you overlooked something? I think, it takes more than beauty to be a star after I’ve seen this woman in the film “Boys don’t cry”.
Do you know her? NO! I didn’t mean the blondy girl, I mean the other!
Here she is. One of my most favorite Hollywood stars, 2 times Academy award winner “Hilary Swank”. She was “Brandon” in the movie “Boys don’t cry” - unrestrained tomboy who looking for true love with a real woman.
She (Swank) was paid only 3,000 dollars! for this sex- crisis role. But the big prize came later; she won her first Oscar as the best Actress in leading role in the year 1999.
Follow by her second in the year 2004 as a woman boxer in “Million Dollar Baby”.
The things that make her become a renowned Hollywood star are not her beauty, her scandal or her boyfriend but her ability, extremely self confident and her splendid performance with a little talent.
In my point of view, she should be a role modal for actresses all over the world and her reputation should be known throughout the world. But she isn’t –Why? I admit that she is not so beauty compared to the others. But it is not so important. The important things are her splendid performance and her stainless life. Sometimes, we let the physical appearance to blind our judgment. A bad story or scandal of a star can reach our ears faster that a good story. We should tune up our perceptions a bit and we will find out that there more good things waiting for us.

New Look, New Life

I could be way wrong, but I have a feeling that Brithney Spears is soon to come into her own. She may be breaking down the old self, the old image that she never created (was manufactured by producers, agents, management and even her parents. )

Her behaviour is running, hiding, ducking from something internal - drinking hard, staying so busy, focused outside herself on superficial distractions because whatever is going on inside, or “who she really is” wants to be expressed.

Maybe Britney’s gay. Maybe she is bi. Maybe she doesn’t like to sing/dance pop but is really drawn to raw alternative. Maybe she doesn’t really want to be a performer at all. She never chose this life - she was a Mouseketeer who released an album “encouraged” by her parents and adults around her.

She never really had a childhood or the chance to go through that mixed up, growing up time that most people do in their teens and early 20’s. I think shaving her head is a statement of freedom, change and rebellion. No one knows besides herself.

Don't Drive Drunk

He is a superstar . He is a famous MC. He is also an idol in many teenagers’ recognition and heart. Recently he has done something unacceptable, at least in the eyes of general public. He drove his car after having drunk too much alcohol and undoubtedly his mind and body were in an uncontrollable as well as unconscious state. He seems to be a drunkard-to-be and a drunk driver now. He is none other than one of our favorite Thai superstars- Atthachai Anantamek or widely known as Dong. Not only was he called a drunk driver, he also used swearwords to the police officers while he was arrested and accused of drink driving. This event reflects something unknown to most people, that is to say, myriads of Thai people usually believe that their favorite superstars are good and well behaved for all seasons, but we should bear in mind that what we see might not be like what we have expected. Drink driving is an act of law violation and considered harmful and dangerous to people in general. Thus, Dong’s unforgivable case helps teach us not to drink and drive. What do you think?
